Structural channel is a rolled steel product with a U-shaped cross-section.

By shape and size there are the following types of structural channels:

• У — with a slope of the inner legs edges;
• П — with parallel legs edges;
• Э — economical with parallel legs edges;
• Л — light series with parallel legs edges;
• С — special;

The range of hot-rolled channels are regulated by DSTU 3436-96 (GOST 8240-97). These standards set the grade of the general and special steel channel 50 to 400 mm high and with legs 32 to 115 mm wide.
